Transfers

Easily manage your accounts and access your money with online banking.

Bar Harbor Online makes it easy to transfer money between your Bar Harbor Bank & Trust accounts. You can also transfer money between your Bar Harbor Bank & Trust account and one of your accounts at another financial institution. Below are instructions on how to complete these tasks.


Transfer Funds between Your Accounts

  1. Click on Make a Transfer from your dashboard.
  2. Choose the account you want to transfer money from and the account you want to transfer money to. Enter an amount. (To choose a frequency, date, and make a note about the payment, click on More options.) Click Submit.

Note: At this time, memos are only available on immediate transfers in online banking.

Transfer Funds from Your Bar Harbor Account to Your Account at Another Financial Institution

Add an Account

  1. To add an account from another financial institution, click on Move Money from the top menu and click Transfers.
  2. Click on + External account.
  3. For your security, enter your password and click Confirm password.
  4. Enter the account name, routing number, account number, and account type of the external bank you want to transfer money to. Click Submit.

The system will send microdeposits, or small deposits, to the account you are adding to verify your checking account. Once you have received those amounts in your external bank account, return to Bar Harbor Online and enter the amounts to confirm the account connection.

Make a Transfer

  1. Click on Make a Transfer from your dashboard.
  2. Choose the account you want to transfer money from and the external account you want to transfer money to. Enter an amount. (To choose a frequency, date, and make a note about the payment, click on More options.) Click Submit.
