Lara Horner holds the position of SVP, Director of Trust Operations at Bar Harbor Wealth Management. She joined the organization in 1998 and works in our Ellsworth, Maine office.
Lara achieved her Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College, and is also a Cannon Trust School graduate. Prior to joining our organization, Lara worked for Northeast Surgery, P.A. as a Medical Receptionist and as a Retail Manager at a local shop in Bar Harbor, Maine.
With over two decades of financial industry experience, Lara has extensive knowledge of wealth management operations. The skills and knowledge acquired as a Trust Administrative Assistant supported her transition into Trust Operations. Lara now manages the Wealth Operations Team to maintain strong internal controls and functionality. She is also a liaison- internally with Compliance and Bank Secrecy Act departments; externally with operational vendors. Lara guides the development of all functioning procedures, as well as completes financial reporting and analysis for the organization. She conducts system upgrade reviews and regularly communicates with Wealth Managers sharing pertinent information such as policy updates.
In the past, Lara has supported her community as Treasurer for Local Solutions which is an organization dedicated to creating community living for young adults with disabilities.
