At Bar Harbor Bank & Trust, we believe helping our communities thrive isn’t just something we say. It’s something we do, together. One of the most meaningful ways we bring this belief to life is through our Casual for a Cause program.
Casual for a Cause is our employee-driven giving program, where team members contribute through bi-weekly payroll deductions in exchange for dressing casually on Fridays.
Those contributions are combined, and the employees then vote on which community organizations will receive their contributions each quarter. Today, approximately 80 percent of our employees participate.
Since its launch in 2018, Casual for a Cause has generated more than $500,000 supporting more than 200 community organizations across Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Together, we’re not just giving back. We’re helping our communities move forward, with compassion and purpose.
