Portland, Maine (February 18, 2026) – Gwendolyn Hulit (NMLS # 2055453) and Alex St. Hilaire (NMLS # 1037494) have joined Bar Harbor Bank & Trust’s residential lending team in Southern Maine, where they will focus on helping current and prospective customers find financing solutions to meet their needs. Gwendolyn is a Vice President, Mortgage Loan Originator, and will work closely with Alex, a Junior Mortgage Loan Originator, as a team based out of the Bank’s Portland, Maine, office.
Gwendolyn worked in marketing and business development before beginning her banking career in 2020. Prior to joining Bar Harbor Bank & Trust, she was a Mortgage Loan Officer at Bangor Savings Bank, and, most recently, a Mortgage Loan Originator at U.S. Bank. Since 2021, Gwen has served on the Board of Directors for the Maine Real Estate Development Association (MEREDA).
Gwendolyn earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine, Farmington. She lives in Falmouth, with her husband, David Hulit, and their children, Hope and Pippa Jane.
In his role with the Bank, Alex works with current and new referral partners, assists in preliminary credit analyses, and guides prospective clients through the pre-approval and approval processes. He has 14 years of mortgage experience, serving as a Mortgage Loan Assistant and Mortgage Loan Officer with U.S. Bank since 2017, and working on Gwendolyn Hulit’s lending team the past two years.
Alex earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Maine, is involved in the Portland Rotary, and currently resides in Westbrook, Maine.
