Your Guide to the Upgraded Experience

Below is detailed information about some of the features of the upgraded Bar Harbor Business Online experience:

Bar Harbor Business Online users can access and manage their personal information and preferences by going to the main menu, selecting “My profile” or the profile icon, and then clicking “Personal settings.” This screen allows you to edit the following:

  • Profile: Update your preferred first name, email address, and phone numbers.
  • Security: Update your username or password; register for passkey sign-in; manage external apps, website permissions, and connection requests; edit two-factor authentication settings; view and remove recently used devices.
  • Alerts: Update alert preferences, including your Bar Harbor Business Online account and transaction alerts for any of your associated bank accounts.

The Business Activity Feed shows all of the key events and actions in a business across all users. This includes:

  • Money movement.
  • Modifying entitlements and permissions.
  • Updating business and business user profile settings.

Only users with admin or viewer permissions can review the activity feed in their settings. You can access Business Activity Feed information by selecting “My profile” or the profile icon, then selecting “Manage Business.” On the following screen, locate the “Manage Business” section and select “Activity.”

These events can be filtered by timeframe, user’s name, and type of event. An activity history can also be downloaded as a .csv file.

Business Online administrators can create and manage users, assign roles, manage account access, and set permissions within the “Manage Users” panel of Bar Harbor Business Online.

You can access “Manage Users” by selecting “My profile” or the profile icon, then selecting “Manage Business.” The “Manage Users” table appears by default, displaying each business user’s name, role, and status.

For complete details about how to create a user, access user profiles, set permissions, and manage user access to Bar Harbor Business Online, please refer to the complete user guide.

Please note: Business Online administrators will need to complete first-time enrollment steps to authorize Business Bill Pay before other users can be added to this service.

To begin using Business Bill Pay, select “Pay a bill” on the dashboard or click the “Payments” tab of the menu and then select “Bill Pay” to navigate to the Business Bill Pay home screen, then click “enroll”. From there, first-time users will be prompted to enter their password and set up challenge questions, create a security key, and accept disclosures.

Once enrolled, users can (depending on their permissions):

  • Manage payees by adding a company or an individual, import payees from another application, edit existing payees, and create or manage categories of payees.
  • Create or schedule one-time or recurring payments.
  • Update their company profile.
  • Manage Business Bill Pay accounts.
  • Enable and manage eNotifications to monitor activity and assist with fraud detection on their Business Bill Pay account.

Once logged into Bar Harbor Business Online or Bar Harbor Mobile, users can send and receive secure, authenticated messages, and screenshots with Bar Harbor Bank & Trust support professionals.

Messages allow our online banking support team to interact directly with users to answer questions and deliver solutions.

How do messages work? Let’s say you have a question about a recent transaction. Within Bar Harbor Business Online, you can click on the transaction to display its full details, then select “Attach to a conversation” and “Start a new conversation” to connect with a member of our support team about that specific transaction.
